Coffee House App

UI/UX Design Nov 2024

Coffee House Platform is a mobile application concept designed to unify coffee ordering, workspace reservations, and retail shopping within a single digital experience.
The project focused on simplifying decision-making, reducing friction across key user flows, and creating a seamless interaction between the café’s physical environment and its digital services.

The Problem

Friction Across Ordering and Workspace Booking

Users struggle with coffee selection due to limited guidance around taste profiles and brewing methods.
At the same time, freelancers and remote workers face difficulty finding available workspace and completing reservations efficiently.

The Project Goal

Unified Ordering & Workspace Experience

The goal of the project was to design a user-centered platform that simplifies coffee ordering, improves clarity in workspace booking, and integrates multiple café services into a cohesive mobile experience.

User Research

Research & User Insights

Research focused on identifying friction points across existing café and workspace platforms. Key findings highlighted uncertainty during coffee selection, limited visibility into workspace availability, and overly complex reservation flows.
These insights informed the interaction structure, navigation patterns, and overall product direction.

“Users need faster decision-making and clearer interaction flows across both ordering and booking experiences.”

The Design

Approach

The design approach focused on simplifying core user flows, reducing cognitive load, and creating a more seamless interaction between ordering, booking, and retail experiences.

Focus:

  1. Guided coffee selection to support faster and more confident decision-making
  2. Clearer workspace availability indicators to reduce booking uncertainty
  3. Consistent interaction patterns across ordering, reservation, and shopping flows

Wireframing

Initial wireframes focused on structuring core user flows, simplifying navigation patterns, and reducing cognitive load across key interactions. Special attention was given to coffee discovery and workspace reservation flows to ensure fast and intuitive task completion.

Low-Fidelity Exploration

Low-fidelity layouts were used to explore content structure, interaction flow, and feature prioritization before moving into higher-fidelity interface design.

“Clear interaction patterns and real-time feedback reduce uncertainty and improve user confidence.”

Visual Refinement

Visual refinement focused on interface hierarchy, interaction consistency, and layout balance across the platform’s primary flows.

Final Prototype

Final prototypes were developed to refine interaction flows, validate navigation patterns, and create a cohesive end-to-end mobile experience.

The Impact

Improved Clarity & Interaction Efficiency

The final design streamlined key user flows by simplifying coffee ordering and workspace reservations through clearer navigation and more intuitive interaction patterns.
By integrating ordering, booking, and retail experiences into a unified system, the platform created a more seamless and efficient digital café experience.

Reflections

This project explored how multiple café services could be unified within a single mobile experience while maintaining simplicity, clarity, and ease of use across different user needs.
